HOUSTON, Apr 10, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI) today announced that its subsidiary, Crown Castle UK Limited, has reached agreement with British Telecommunications plc (BT) to defer until March 2003 payment of 50 million pounds Sterling (approximately $71.5 million) of the 100 million pounds payment due March 2002 under the transaction documentation relating to BT exchange sites in the UK.

"The deferral of the 50 million pounds payment is reflective of the constructive approach both parties are taking to address the delays in the roll-out of 3G services in the UK," said John P.
